![]() Players can “hover” and that allows them to face flying foes in the sky or zoom down to enemies on the ground. Not only has its functionality in the open world been improved, but it now has proper uses in combat. One improvement that really sets Elex 2 apart from its predecessor is the use of the Jetpack. The variety of weapons and armor is quite limited, but as most of this should tie into a player’s faction, it doesn’t prove to be a big detriment to the game. Players can parry, dodge, and use unique faction abilities, while improving their weapons and armor throughout the game. On the other end of the spectrum, combat is more refined than Elex 1, but still not quite to the level of many RPGs nowadays. It's entirely possible to be locked out of choices because of a Destruction score. Its impact on the overall game is rather minute, but it does impact how one deals with companions. Players' words and actions can contribute to Jax's Destruction score-a low one means Jax is a good person, a high one means Jax is an evil person. Still, the overarching stories of each companion are interesting and varied, and the potential romances of Elex 2 are much more intricate and mature than the first game.Įlex 2's dialogue and choices also operate off a fairly standard morality system. Generally speaking, players will either travel to a place to kill an enemy or enemies or go looking for something, upon which players will need to kill enemies. Each has their own compelling story, if their quests are somewhat repetitive. Many familiar faces from the first game return, though there are brand new companions in Elex 2 as well. Players will be joined by their companions, though. And, should they so wish for the most punishing playthrough, they can refuse to join any faction. Players can join the Morkons, who worship the God of Oblivion and embrace death, allowing players to have an almost Barbarian or Death Knight-style build. Players can also join the Albs, who were the primary antagonists of the first game, as they’ve grown and learned from Commander Jax. Not only has the elapsed time impacted their presence and power in Magalan, but players are given even more Elex 2 factions and choices beyond these. ![]() Elex 2 retains all of these factions, allowing players to side with them in the coming war, but expands on them in the best of ways. In Elex 1, there are three factions players can join: Outlaws, who are the rough and tough bandit-like faction of Magalan Clerics, who are highly religious and can effectively use technology and Berserkers, who use mana and magic to try and restore the world. While it may seem simple on the surface, Elex 2 will make major reveals throughout the game-always tugging the player to return for the next mystery. In doing so, players will learn more about the history of the planet, the purpose of Elex, the arrival of the comet, and who the Skyands are. Thus, players must once again pull together all the factions of Magalan to face a new threat: the Skyands. Although he was once a hero in the game’s setting, the planet Magalan (which was wrecked by a comet), his deeds have been forgotten to time. In Elex 2, players once again lace up the boots of Commander Jax. Overall, what Elex 2 may lack in appearance and polish is made up for in sheer depth. ![]() In our entire playthrough of Elex 2, bugs were rare and never intrusive. Some mistake Eurojank games as something often riddled with bugs too, but this is a common misperception. Its facial animations, textures, general graphics, and more are nothing to write home about. RELATED: THQ Nordic Still Has a Ton of Unannounced Projects in the Works Eurojank is a subgenre defined as ambitious games that punch above their weight, typically missing a level of polish expected of AAA games. But, up-front, the biggest hurdle for some players will be that Elex 2 is clearly a Eurojank game. Otherwise, there are a lot of nuances that players will not be able to pick up on. Truly, at the end of the day, Elex 2 delivers on its marketing promises and is what a proper open-world RPG and sequel should be.Įlex 2 will not be for everyone, however, and it’s highly recommended that the first game is played before it. ![]() Elex 2 not only realizes that goal but pulls together a story with plenty of turns and twists, while also setting up for a proper threequel. Silicone can cure as quickly as in 24 hours up to several days, depending on the thickness of the repair. Epoxies can take up to a full week to cure, so they may not be the best choice for a fast repair job. Some glues set and cure nearly instantly, while others need several days to reach full strength.Īs anyone who has superglued their fingers together can attest, cyanoacrylates cure almost instantly. When the adhesive achieves a maximum bond with the material, it’s cured. Setting time is the amount of time the adhesive needs to harden. Drying Timeĭrying time can mean different things during the gluing process. A silicone or epoxy adhesive is more likely to hold up against moisture or ultra-high temperatures like those experienced by windshields and exterior windows. ![]() For an outdoor repair, check that it’s made to hold up to the debilitating effects of extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and exposure to water.Ī waterproof superglue that’s resistant to the weather’s debilitating effects is available, but most regular superglues are better for indoor repairs. Whether the broken glass is outdoors or indoors impacts the type of glue that’s best for the glass repair. Application, drying time, bond strength, waterproofing, and temperature resistance-all can influence the repair’s efficacy. What to Consider When Choosing the Best Glue for GlassĪfter determining the type of glass repair that’s necessary, calibrate the search by thinking about which characteristics are most important. If a glass repair is exposed consistently to water, extreme heat, or harsh elements, a silicone adhesive may be the best option. Its gel-like consistency is both waterproof and mildew-resistant. It commonly acts as a sealant in aquariums, window frames, automobiles, and appliances. Silicone is popular for glass repair because it’s highly flexible, waterproof, and easy to apply. The upside is that epoxy glue is ultra-hard, long-lasting, and resistant to extreme conditions. This creates a limited time to use the epoxy before you must mix a new batch. Epoxy is especially effective at glass repairs because the adhesive is potent and dries to a clear finish.Īfter the resin-and-hardener mixing process, the glue begins to harden immediately. Mixing the two creates a chemical reaction that spurs polymerization, which is a bond at the molecular level. Unlike superglue, epoxy glue has two parts: resin and hardener. Because water is in nearly everything, including the air and the damaged glass, superglue makes an effective glass repair option for interior fixes that don’t experience high temperatures or moisture levels. These glues are acrylic resins, and they can repair small cracks, chips, or breaks.īy forming a super-strong bond to hydroxyl ions in water, superglue cures almost instantly. ![]() SuperglueĬyanoacrylate adhesives, better known as superglues, live up to their name by sticking to nearly everything, including glass.
